ASMR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, is a term used by the community to describe the tingly, pleasant sensations some people feel while listening to certain auditory stimuli.
ASMR is not a physical or mental illness. It’s not a recognized medical condition, though some people may experience it. It’s just a sensory experience. The most common triggers for ASMR are whispering, tapping, and scratching sounds; however, personal preferences and triggers vary.
ASMR: The videos
The most common ASMR videos are role-plays in which the creator gently speaks or performs certain actions, but there are many other types of videos out there as well: art role-plays, instructive videos, instructional videos, and more. The ASMR community is full of kind and creative people.
